Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Estates Officer team at City Hospitals Independent Commercial Enterprises Ltd (CHoICE). As an Estates Officer - Mechanical Systems Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the maintenance and installation of mechanical systems within our large acute NHS trust.
Key Responsibilities- Support senior engineering staff in ensuring that maintenance and engineering capital works are completed in a safe and compliant manner.
- Attend project meetings, undertake relevant clerk of works duties, and assist with planned preventative maintenance activities.
- Develop and maintain as-fitted drawings and asset information, as well as standard operating procedures.
- Post-apprenticeship or graduation mechanical experience.
- Experience of maintaining and installing mechanical systems within a large acute NHS trust.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills to Level 1 or equivalent.
- Membership of a professional body.
- Registered with the Engineering Council UK.
- Management qualification or training.
- Undertake moderate moving and handling activities with the ability to perform testing and asset condition surveys using technical and non-technical devices and instruments.
- Ability to sit at workstations for prolonged periods and adapt to site surveys or emergency situations.
- Ability to work to deadlines and predefined targets using own initiative where necessary.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while balancing conflicting demands.
- Good IT skills and communication skills with the ability to use appropriate techniques to a range of audiences.
