About the Role

Moorlands Rehabilitation - Harewood Park is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Support Worker to join our team at Harewood Park, Cheadle. Our organization specializes in the rehabilitation and care for adults with enduring mental health issues, mild learning disabilities, and acquired brain injury.

As a Rehabilitation Support Worker, you will be part of a therapeutic team during your shift, working under the direction of the qualified nurse in charge and/or senior support worker to provide care and support for all our residents based at the Cottages, our on-site step-down unit.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Personal Care and Support: Assist residents in all aspects of personal care, including bathing, washing, dressing, and other intimate personal care needs.
  2. Resident Empowerment: Support and assist residents to be responsible for their clothes, personal belongings, and their own room as part of their rehabilitation program.
  3. Rehabilitation and Assessment: Assist residents with their assessment and rehabilitation program by working alongside them to encourage growth and development.
  4. Social and Recreational Activities: Encourage residents to pursue social, recreational, and educational activities within the House and Community. Provide support in such activities, including accompanying them if necessary.
  5. Policy and Procedure Adherence: Be aware of and adhere to all Harewood Park policies and procedures.
  6. Teamwork and Assessment: Work as a member of a team and be involved in assessments.
  7. Flexibility and Availability: The post is rota-based, including weekend working. The hours are flexible to service need.
  8. Professional Development: Participate in in-service training and other courses relevant to the post.
  9. Relationship Building: Maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
  10. Hygiene and Health and Safety: Maintain hygiene and health and safety within the House and comply with relevant legislation.
  11. Reporting and Maintenance: Report to Qualified Nurse in Charge any faults, repairs, or renewals in order to maintain a good standard in the House.
  12. Respect and Dignity: Treat all property with respect and afford residents the dignity and respect to which they are entitled, recognizing any special requirements associated with an individual's race, culture, or religion.
  13. Professionalism and Communication: Treat all visitors, relatives, and professional persons with politeness and in a professional manner. Notify the Qualified Nurse in Charge of the presence of visitors in the House.
  14. Initiative and Motivation: Show initiative and motivation throughout your shift.
Working Arrangements
  • Day Shift: Day shift (9:15am–7:15pm flexible)

Job Type: Part-time days

Pay: £11.75 per hour
