Job Overview

The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background and excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for providing expert pharmaceutical advice to patients and other members of the multidisciplinary team, leading and developing relevant clinical and pharmaceutical audit and research, and supporting the Trust's directive of 7-day working.

Main Duties
  • Provide an advanced clinical pharmacist service within the Family Services Directorate
  • Lead and deliver Clinical Pharmacy services to named specialist clinical areas
  • Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to patients and other members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Lead and develop relevant clinical and pharmaceutical audit and research
  • Support the Trust's directive of 7-day working

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • A vocational Master's degree in Pharmacy plus pre-registration training resulting in registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy qualification or proven level of equivalent experience

Desirable Criteria

  • Accredited pre-registration pharmacy student tutor and/or accredited clinical pharmacy diploma tutor
  • Independent Prescribing qualification
  • MFRPSI

Occupational Experience and Abilities

  • Previous hospital Pharmacy experience as a Clinical Pharmacist (minimum of four years post-qualification including a minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in relevant specialist area)
  • Previous experience of supervising/mentoring junior colleagues
