Position Overview:

In the capacity of a Technical Business Consultant or Project Leader, you will play a pivotal role throughout the entire project lifecycle. This includes employing requirements gathering techniques to capture business needs, identifying challenges or uncovering gaps, assessing project objectives, and monitoring progress to ensure the successful completion of projects.

This role offers the chance to take charge of business goals and the development of technological solutions that support business growth. You will serve as the primary liaison between senior stakeholders, the Business Product Management Team, Quantitative Research/Trading Teams, Development Teams, Quality Assurance, and support and infrastructure groups.

Successful candidates will either integrate into Squarepoint's Business Analysis Team or Project Leadership Team based on their skill sets, strengths, and personal preferences.

The primary responsibilities for Technical Business Consultants include:

Evaluate existing business processes to establish a comprehensive understanding. Identify technical requirements and issues to address through thorough analysis. Structure and define requirements into technical projects. Design comprehensive solutions, propose implementation strategies, and provide evaluations and recommendations to facilitate optimal decision-making for the firm. Drive product design that aligns with organizational goals by collaborating with business and technology stakeholders. Create and maintain product and project specifications with a high degree of accuracy. Manage functional and technical knowledge and content, ensuring outstanding inquiries are resolved. Develop project implementation plans and proactively track project progress while managing multiple priorities and effectively communicating these priorities to stakeholders.

The primary responsibilities for Project Leaders include:

Define project scope, objectives, stakeholders, milestones, dependencies, and associated risks. Create and maintain a clear, comprehensive, and feasible project plan that is agreed upon by stakeholders. Ensure effective communication throughout the project among team members and stakeholders. Act as the main point of contact for the project, coordinating with team members and resolving conflicts to ensure successful project delivery. Proactively identify obstacles and risks, escalating issues when necessary. Engage in change management and process improvement initiatives while optimizing existing procedures and controls. Provide transparency to stakeholders by delivering comprehensive project updates regularly.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess:

Strong skills in requirements gathering: the ability to capture, conceptualize, and structure requirements into concise and comprehensive specifications to minimize gaps. Excellent documentation skills: the ability to create and maintain highly accurate specifications, project, and product documents in accordance with company standards. A talent for abstracting concepts, identifying gaps and nuances, connecting information, internalizing knowledge, and questioning effectively. The ability to develop and sustain strategic partnerships with senior management, project stakeholders, and end users globally, as well as communicate effectively across business and development teams. A solid understanding of software/hardware concepts, software architecture design, and the software development lifecycle (Waterfall or Agile). Knowledge of various asset classes in either listed or OTC financial instruments such as Equities, Futures, Options, and Fixed Income instruments. A self-driven, independent, reliable, and collaborative nature with a strong sense of ownership. Exceptional organizational skills, a high level of accuracy in both written and verbal communication, and meticulous attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different domains.

Required Qualifications:

5 to 10 years of experience in a Technical Business Analyst or Project Leader role within the financial sector. Practical programming experience is essential, preferably in Python or KDB+/q. Proficiency in Atlassian Confluence and JIRA, including relevant macros and plug-ins. Experience in initiating, defining, driving, and implementing projects with clearly defined milestones. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Microservices, Domain-Driven Design, API Design, cloud-native applications, distributed systems, and DevOps is advantageous.
