Position Overview:

In the capacity of a Technical Business Consultant or Project Leader, you will be instrumental in steering the complete project lifecycle; commencing with employing requirements gathering techniques to extract business needs, pinpoint issues or uncover gaps, assess project goals, and monitor progress, ultimately ensuring the successful execution of the project.

This role offers the chance to take charge of business objectives and the formulation of technological solutions to foster business growth. You will serve as the primary liaison between senior stakeholders, the Business Product Management Team, Quantitative Research/Trading Teams, Development Teams, QA, and support and infrastructure groups.

Successful candidates will either integrate into Squarepoint's Business Analysis Team or Project Management Team based on their skill sets, strengths, and personal preferences.

The primary responsibilities for Technical Business Consultants include:

Evaluate existing business processes and establish a comprehensive overview. Identify technical requirements and challenges to address through thorough analysis. Structure and delineate requirements into technical projects. Design comprehensive solutions, propose implementation strategies, and provide assessments and recommendations to facilitate optimal decisions for the firm. Drive product design that aligns with organizational goals by collaborating with business and technology stakeholders. Create and maintain product and project specifications with a high degree of accuracy. Manage functional and technical knowledge and content, ensuring outstanding inquiries are resolved. Develop project implementation plans and proactively oversee project progress while managing multiple priorities and effectively communicating these priorities to project stakeholders.

The primary responsibilities for Project Leaders include:

Define the project scope, objectives, stakeholders, milestones, dependencies, and associated risks. Create and maintain clear, comprehensive, and feasible project specifications/plans that are agreed upon by stakeholders. Ensure effective communication throughout the project among team members and with stakeholders and management. Act as the point of contact for the project, coordinating with team members and resolving conflicts to ensure successful project delivery. Proactively identify obstacles and risks, escalating when necessary. Engage in change management and process enhancement initiatives while optimizing existing procedures and controls. Provide stakeholders with project transparency through regular, comprehensive updates.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess:

Strong skills in requirements gathering: ability to capture, conceptualize, and structure requirements into concise and comprehensive specifications to minimize gaps. Excellent documentation skills: ability to create and maintain highly accurate requirement specifications, project, and product documents in accordance with Squarepoint's documentation standards. Capability to abstract concepts, identify gaps and nuances, connect information, internalize knowledge, relate information to implications, and question effectively. Ability to cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with senior management, project stakeholders, and end users globally, along with effective communication across business and development teams. Solid understanding of software/hardware concepts, software architecture design, and the software development lifecycle (Waterfall or Agile). Familiarity with various asset classes in either listed or OTC financial instruments such as Equities, Futures, Options, and Fixed Income instruments. Self-motivated, independent, reliable, collaborative, and possessing a strong sense of ownership. Highly organized, with exceptional accuracy in both written and verbal communication and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently across diverse domains.

Required Qualifications:

5 to 10 years of experience in a Technical Business Analyst or Project Leader role within the financial sector. Hands-on programming experience is essential, preferably in Python or KDB+/q. Proficiency in Atlassian Confluence and JIRA, including relevant macros/plug-ins. Experience in initiating, defining, driving, and implementing projects with clearly defined milestones. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Microservices, Domain-Driven Design, API Design, cloud-native applications, distributed systems, and DevOps is advantageous.
