Job Title: Health and Safety Officer

Adecco is proud to partner with Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust to recruit a permanent Health and Safety Officer to join their team in York.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work within the Health and Safety Team to deliver occupational health and safety across all group operations, ensuring compliance with the HASAWA 1974 and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and deliver on key health and safety objectives and projects, promoting a positive and compliant health and safety culture.
  • Develop and implement monitoring of health and safety activities and documentation across the business.
  • Provide technical advice to managers to maintain safe working practices and conditions.
  • Design, delivery, and review of training materials to enhance health and safety knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, representing the Health and Safety Team at meetings.
  • Support compliance and health and safety tasks, including Fire Drills and operational health and safety processes.
Requirements
  • Experience working in a Health and Safety environment, preferably in social housing or the Public Sector.
  • A health and safety qualification, such as IOSH or NEBOSH general certificate.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to adapt.
  • Customer-focused, integrity, and respect within the workplace environment.
