We are currently seeking a dedicated and engaging individual to join a fantastic SEN Secondary School in Winchester. The ideal candidate will assist in supporting KS3 and KS4 classes tailored for students with special educational needs. The school emphasizes a supportive atmosphere that encourages effective learning and personal growth.

Position Overview:

  • Supporting the classroom teacher with a small group of students (4-8 pupils per class)
  • Facilitating outdoor excursions and activity days
  • Aligning with the school's mission and core principles
  • Assisting students with autism spectrum conditions, complex needs, and behavioral challenges
  • Full-time hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Providing individualized and small group assistance to help students meet curriculum objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exemplary patience, initiative, and resilience, as this role can be both challenging and fulfilling
  • Experience in a special educational needs setting (not essential)
  • Strong relationship-building skills with students
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

Requirements for Employment:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An updated CV with two relevant references from the past two years
  • A DBS registered with the update service or a willingness to apply for one through our agency
