Job Description

About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support our partner school in providing a nurturing environment for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a Secondary setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education to pupils with SEN needs.
  • Assist with outdoor day trips and activity days to promote social and emotional development.
  • Embody the school's vision and core values, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with pupils who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex needs, and challenging behaviors.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to ensure pupils stay on track with the curriculum.

Requirements

  • Patience, proactivity, and resilience to work with pupils who may present challenging behaviors.
  • Experience working in a SEN school (not essential).
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
