Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the safe and secure handling of patients' own medication on allocated wards.
  • Assist ward pharmacy staff with the supply of missed doses, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing delays.
  • Identify patients who require early review and refer them to the appropriate pharmacist or pharmacy technician.
  • Liaise with ward nursing staff to ensure timely delivery of time-critical medications.
  • Ensure patients' own medication is transferred with them to the ward and then to the discharge lounge, preventing missed doses.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy technical services.
  • Recent experience working in a pharmacy department as a pharmacy assistant.
  • Standard keyboard skills, including Microsoft Office and Word.
  • A working knowledge of pharmacy computer systems (EMIS).
