About the Role:

Cavendish Nuclear, part of Babcock International Group, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Capability Lead to join our team. As a leader within the UK nuclear industry, we provide a comprehensive range of critical nuclear solutions in clean energy, defence, and civil new build and decommissioning projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement capability strategies and plans to drive industry-leading performance in radioactive waste management and environmental solutions.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Radioactive Waste Management and Environmental Capability, applying process, domain knowledge, and experience to achieve business objectives.
  • Take an active role in professional networks on behalf of Cavendish Nuclear, promoting expertise and influencing industry developments.
  • Lead the development and implementation of capability strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with Cavendish Nuclear's growth plans and industry best practices.
  • Be responsible for the career development of waste and environmental specialists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in the nuclear sector, with significant radioactive waste management experience proven over several years.
  • Proven experience in supporting projects throughout the service lifecycle, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Experience of building and line managing technical teams, with a track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of an established network within the radioactive waste sector, with a strong understanding of industry trends and developments.
