About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Capability Lead Waste and Environmental to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a leader in the UK nuclear industry, we are committed to creating a safe and secure world, and this role will play a critical part in achieving that goal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the Waste and Environmental Capability, ensuring it remains industry-leading and aligned with our company's growth plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and excellence.
  • Take an active role in professional networks, representing Babcock International Group and promoting our expertise in radioactive waste management and environmental solutions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of capability strategies and plans, ensuring seamless execution and effective resource allocation.
  • Provide guidance and support to waste and environmental specialists, promoting their career development and growth within the organization.
  • Manage resource supply to meet near-term and strategic demand, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in the nuclear sector, with a proven track record in radioactive waste management and a deep understanding of industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to support projects throughout the service lifecycle, from conception to delivery.
  • Experience in building and leading technical teams, with a focus on developing and mentoring high-performing individuals.
  • Established network within the radioactive waste sector, with a strong reputation for expertise and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Degree (or similar/equivalent qualification) in a relevant technical discipline, such as engineering or science.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
