Intellectual Property Manager

We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Manager to join our team at LGC, a leading international life sciences company. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving innovation and commercialization of research in the medical, health, and life sciences sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide scientific, commercial, and regulatory support and analysis for the commercialization of intellectual property assets created by researchers.
- Support the training of researchers to promote industrial engagement and the commercialization of intellectual property.
- Manage a reagents portfolio and provide face-to-face support to researchers at various locations.
- Engage with legal and patent subcontractors to resolve intellectual property and commercialization cases.
- Gather data and provide detailed analysis to support the development of business cases for intellectual property commercialization.
- Deliver core training for staff on intellectual property and commercialization.
- Work with internal and external legal advice to review collaboration agreement issues.
- Support the identification of intellectual property requiring protection and work with colleagues and external patent agents to protect IP.
- Maintain accurate database records of current intellectual property assets being managed.
- Support other team members with technology transfer activities.
- Degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) qualified in life sciences.
- Understanding of intellectual property management processes and ways to protect intellectual property assets.
- Ability to communicate information regarding intellectual property and commercialization to a range of audiences using appropriate style and format of messages.
- Experience of working in a technology transfer environment to commercialize life science and health-related intellectual property.
- Some experience of negotiating commercialization licenses.
- An understanding of the different priorities of industry, researchers, and government when agreeing mutually beneficial outcomes for the commercialization of intellectual property.
- Competitive salary: £39,200+ PA.
