Job Title: Intellectual Property Manager

We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Manager to join our team at LGC. As a key member of our Grant Management Group, you will play a crucial role in supporting the commercialisation of research and innovation within the life sciences sector.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing scientific, commercial, and regulatory support for the commercialisation of intellectual property assets created by researchers. This will involve working closely with colleagues, researchers, and officials to identify and protect valuable IP, negotiate commercialisation licences, and develop business cases for IP commercialisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage IP assets and provide support for commercialisation
  • Collaborate with researchers and officials to identify and protect valuable IP
  • Negotiate commercialisation licences and develop business cases
  • Support the training of researchers in IP and commercialisation
  • Maintain accurate records of current IP assets
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in life sciences
  • Understanding of intellectual property management processes
  • Ability to communicate complex information to a range of audiences
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of working in a technology transfer environment
  • Experience of negotiating commercialisation licences
  • Understanding of the different priorities of industry, researchers, and government
