We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to join our Clinical Coding Team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to ensuring the clinical coding teams deliver a quality coding service across the organisation by providing accurate and timely clinical coding in accordance with national standards and requirements of clinical coding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical coding in accordance with national standards and requirements of clinical coding.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical coding policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on clinical coding practices and procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and consistency of clinical coding.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of clinical coding services.
Requirements
  • Relevant practical clinical coding experience.
  • Competence in using ICD10 and OPCS4.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
