Job OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Animal Keeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and husbandry, completing daily checks and records, and participating in various projects related to animal management.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with enclosure maintenance, cleaning, and refurbishment.
- Prepare and serve approved diets, nutrition, and enrichment for a range of species.
- Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed.
- Participate in animal training, keeper experiences, and 'Meet the Animal' sessions.
- Contribute to projects related to animal management and conservation.
- Practical experience in animal management with a range of domestic and exotic species.
- Broad taxonomic knowledge of species managed within zoological collections.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to work varied hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
