Job OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Animal Keeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and husbandry, completing daily checks and records, and participating in various projects related to animal management.
Main Responsibilities- Assist with enclosure maintenance, cleaning, and refurbishment.
- Prepare and implement approved diets, nutrition, and enrichment programs for a range of species.
- Ensure safety and emergency procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Participate in animal training, keeper experiences, and 'Meet the Animal' sessions.
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and progressive working practices.
- Practical experience in animal management with a range of domestic and exotic species.
- Broad taxonomic knowledge of species managed within zoological collections.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and high standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with visitors.
- Recognized qualifications and a passion for animal welfare and conservation are highly desirable.
