Position Overview
We are seeking three Clinical Informatics Nurse Leaders who align with our mission to deliver exceptional care and outstanding service to our patients.
The Clinical Informatics Nurse Leader (CINL) will spearhead and assist in various initiatives as part of the organization's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation project. A strong background and proven experience in nursing leadership within one of the following areas is preferred:
- Emergency Services
- Inpatient Care
- Intensive Care Units and Surgical Theatres
The CINL will collaborate closely with the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) to guide the development and execution of digital solutions that enhance nursing, midwifery, and Allied Health Professional (AHP) practices, working in partnership with the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer (CCIO) on clinical and administrative decision-making processes.
The role will focus on ensuring nursing engagement and adoption of technology, including:
- Promoting continuous improvement in clinical processes within the Nursing and Midwifery divisions, emphasizing patient outcomes.
- Creating clinical information systems that support and enhance nursing practices and operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
The Clinical Informatics Nurse Leader (CINL) is a pivotal leadership position essential to the success of the organization's Digital and Nursing Strategies. The CINL will engage across various specialties, supporting the CNIO and CCIO, and will be an integral member of the EPR Project implementation team.
The CINL is expected to lead and support specific workstreams as part of the EPR project implementation. Responsibilities include ensuring the clinical safety of systems and processes during the design, implementation, and utilization of technological solutions. A recognized Clinical Safety Officer qualification is required or the willingness to obtain one.
You will serve as the Lead Nurse for digital initiatives, responsible for coordinating and compiling data in collaboration with nursing colleagues, the digital department, and external organizations as necessary.
The CINL will be accountable for:
- Facilitating nursing engagement and adoption of technology.

Qualifications and Training
Essential:
- Relevant professional/clinical qualification (Registered Nurse)
- First-level degree in a related healthcare discipline
- Evidence of a Master's degree relevant to the role or equivalent experience
- Teaching/Mentorship qualification
- Clinical Safety Officer Practitioner qualification or willingness to pursue
Desirable:
- Digital Health Leadership course or progress towards it
- Post-graduate management qualification/experience
- Project management qualification/experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Comprehensive understanding of the national digital agenda and the Guidance for Nursing on What Good Looks Like (WGLL) Framework
- Thorough understanding of the importance of high-quality data
- Current and evidence-based knowledge of clinical and professional issues
- In-depth understanding of the unified vision for nursing and midwifery documentation and the ability to apply findings to enhance patient care
- Strong analytical, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills related to IT systems
- Experience in multidisciplinary team working and at an 8a level
Desirable:
- Familiarity with clinical systems (CMIS, Lorenzo, Nervecentre, etc.)
- Experience in change management and service development
