About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Team Leader to join our Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) within the Emergency Department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the CDU, leading a team of nurses and clinical support workers, and providing clinical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the CDU, a 7-bed and 4-chair space area, and lead a team of nurses and clinical support workers.
  • Develop, monitor, and audit standards for use in the clinical area.
  • Ensure patient care is of the highest possible standard and provide advice and support to all staff working in the area.
  • Coordinate daily activities and operations with CDU and safely pull patients from other areas within ED, ensuring efficient patient flow, timely assessments, and adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Work in collaboration with other key staff in the clinical group to maintain effective use of bed availability by timely and effective admission and discharge.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a degree to BSc level.
  • Experience of working in ED or inpatient wards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Nurse in charge/management experience.
  • ALS provider.
  • ATNC/ATLS attendance.
