Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Team Leader to join our Endoscopy team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of nurses to deliver high-quality services.

The Endoscopy unit is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on patient safety and satisfaction. Our team is committed to delivering excellent care and services, and we are looking for a leader who shares our vision and values.

As a Nurse Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of nurses to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve patient safety and satisfaction
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Managing staff absence and conducting appraisals and return-to-work interviews
  • Supporting the Endoscopy NTMs and deputizing for them in their absence
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication links with the multidisciplinary team, specialist nurses, office staff, and wards
  • Actively participating in retention and recruitment of staff to support the service
  • Completing weekly allocations to maintain safe staffing levels and create opportunities for staff to complete their competencies

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a registered nursing qualification and is registered with the NMC
  • Has a nursing degree qualification or equivalent
  • Has a good understanding of gastroenterological conditions and procedures
  • Has experience of managing staff absence and conducting appraisals and return-to-work interviews
  • Has experience of developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve patient safety and satisfaction
  • Has excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
