Financial Accountant – Fixed-Term Contract

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team on a fixed-term basis, targeting individuals who excel in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment where accountability and responsibility are paramount.

As a vital member of the finance team, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s objectives and ensuring its financial health and growth.


In your role as a Financial Accountant, you will oversee Group Reporting, ensuring the precision of financial information and upholding strong financial controls.

This position is essential for facilitating the overall financial operations of the organization, preparing financial statements, and assisting with tax obligations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Group Reporting function, including the creation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and appropriate classification within the general ledger.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Supervise finance operational processes to effectively support business functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT and corporation tax submissions.
  • Manage and mentor the Finance Analyst.
  • Generate reports for external stakeholders to comply with regulatory and reporting standards.
  • Provide support for various financial processes as required.
  • Oversee daily journal entries and resolve discrepancies in the general ledger.
  • Maintain the consistency and accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Manage daily cash entries and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Analyst to initiate and process payments.
  • Prepare accounts for distribution to reinsurers.
  • Assist in the creation of daily and monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Oversee the accounts payable process, from invoice receipt to payment initiation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial accounting and management accounting reporting standards, including year-end financial statements.
  • Act as the primary liaison for external auditors regarding the financial ledger.

Key Requirements:

  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Experience in Financial Services or Insurance is highly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

Experience:

  • Solid background in financial and management accounting.
