About the Role
The Accounting and Financial Management Department at Northumbria University is seeking to appoint a distinguished academic to join its Accounting Subject as an Associate Professor of Accounting. The role-holder will be expected to demonstrate ongoing academic excellence and achievement, and provide academic leadership through contributions to their discipline and the communal life and work of their Faculty and the wider University.
This will involve undertaking a specific management portfolio within the Department and, more generally, the Faculty. Beyond the discipline and University, the successful candidate will work to bring significant change within practice, profession, and/or community at regional, national, and international levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to research activities, increasing the level of inclusiveness in the subject and the department, and delivering appropriate research outputs, income generation, and impact as agreed by the department's Research leadership team.
- Assist the Head of Department and the Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor to maintain, enhance, and improve the University's national and international reputation in their academic field.
- Contribute to delivering the Faculty's strategic priorities, which include the integration of high-quality research, excellent teaching, and the provision and inclusiveness of leadership on a range of diverse portfolios within an academic context.
Requirements
- An outstanding profile and a robust research agenda.
- Evidence of previous research funding success.
- Expertise in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and management accounting.
