Assistant Store Leader

We are Pets at Home – a dedicated team passionate about pet care, operating a network of Pet Care Centres, Grooming salons, and Veterinary practices across the UK.

Our stores are community-oriented, where local employees engage with pet owners to enhance the well-being of pets in the area.

Role Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in the management team.

As a Duty Manager, you will assume full responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.

You will be involved in all aspects of store management, including recruitment, inventory control, and maintaining store standards.

Your Store Manager will support you in ensuring that your team achieves sales targets and meets performance indicators.

You will lead by example with a proactive approach.

Inspire your team, foster a positive work environment, and create an enjoyable shopping experience for customers.

We will equip you with the training and skills necessary to deliver exceptional customer service that aligns with our vision of being the 'Best Pet Care Business in the World'.

Team Dynamics
Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in the retail sector with at least 1 year in a management role.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic retail environment, with the ability to work flexible shifts across 7 days a week.
  • A genuine passion for retail, demonstrating a history of achieving high standards and outstanding results.
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication skills to motivate and engage your team.
  • Prepared to undergo 6 months of comprehensive training covering key aspects of the role, including pet handling, customer service, and health and safety.
