Data Center Facility Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Environment Facility Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our AWS Infrastructure Services team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers responsible for the 100% availability of mechanical and electrical services, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metrics reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Facility Infrastructure Management: Oversee the build out of Facility-specific infrastructure in existing locations, ensuring seamless integration with AWS practices and procedures.
- Team Leadership: Responsible for the onsite management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors, fostering a culture of excellence and high performance.
- Engineering Systems Availability: Has primary responsibility for engineering systems availability in both leased and colocated facilities, ensuring 100% uptime and reliability.
- Financial Analysis and Decision Making: Conducts financial analysis and contributes to financial decisions, providing strategic insights to drive business growth.
- Team Development and Management: Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise to ensure highest levels of performance and achievement.
- Project Management: Conducts Project Management for multiple sites, utilizing business knowledge to set priorities and develop project plans.
- Critical Systems Operations: Operate and manage both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment.
- Education: Degree in engineering/technical field or equivalent (to be amended based on the region's specifics).
- Experience: 8+ years of People Management experience, 5+ years experience building strong, successful Engineering technical teams, and 3+ years of relevant engineering operation experience managing large scale services.
- Language Skills: Very good command of English.
- University Degree: University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, in relevant discipline or equivalent training.
- Relevant Experience: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience managing large scale services, 8+ years experience building strong, successful Engineering technical teams, and Data Center Engineering Management.
