Commercial Operations Manager

Are you driven by the pursuit of commercial excellence in the construction sector? Our esteemed client in the property development field is on the lookout for a proactive Commercial Operations Manager to lead all aspects of Quantity Surveying within their organization.
This crucial position will report directly to the Regional Directors and will have functional oversight to the Commercial Director. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance and capitalize on commercial prospects while nurturing enduring and effective trading partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement project and business strategies while ensuring compliance with the Company's Commercial Standing Instructions (CSI).
- Assist the Commercial Director in crafting and executing policies and procedures, guaranteeing that best practices are uniformly applied across the region's operations.
- Swiftly identify and mitigate commercial risks to ensure project success, focusing on effective cost management and dispute prevention.
- Provide financial and contractual guidance to the Regional Director, aiding senior departmental personnel in attracting and retaining skilled staff, and ensuring that team members receive suitable training and development opportunities.
- Conduct annual and interim Performance & Development Reviews to assess and enhance team performance, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess experience within a residential construction firm or property development environment, complemented by a robust educational background, ideally having transitioned from a Quantity Surveyor position or a related field.
Exceptional skills in building and nurturing relationships with clients, project quantity surveyors, and design teams are essential. A solid grasp of commercial strategy, claims management, dispute resolution, and financial reporting is also vital. A comprehensive training framework for this role is available, including regional orientation, various workshops, and optional professional memberships.
