  • You will draft subcontract agreements and manage package costs, including reviewing variation costs.
  • Final account settlements with the supply chain will be your responsibility.
  • You will oversee cost reporting and generate estimates for contract pricing, projected profit/loss, and pricing omissions.
  • Preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities, will be required.
  • Participation in client and progress meetings is expected.
  • You will be accountable for the commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement to final account.
  • Managing the procurement of subcontract packages and materials, including tender documentation and administration, will be essential.
  • You will report on commercial package management to the commercial lead.
  • Establishing cost control systems and managing client and subcontract changes will be part of your duties.
  • You will implement risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms and mitigate risks to protect project margins.
  • Enhancing profitability through change and cost reduction initiatives, such as value engineering, will be a focus.
  • Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team will be vital.
  • You will work towards achieving net-zero carbon transition goals and share responsibility for identifying and managing associated carbon emissions during project delivery.

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Experience in subcontract profit and loss reporting.
  • Management of monthly commercial calendars.
  • Knowledge of contract management, including the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) Suite of Contracts.
  • Ability to apply detailed technical expertise in managing complex tasks.
  • Experience in establishing cost control systems.
  • Leading value engineering and cost optimization exercises.
  • Preparation of monthly commercial reports.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and networking abilities with key stakeholders and senior leaders.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Progress towards membership of MCIOB / MAPM / MRICS / MICE or equivalent professional development.

  • Expertise in construction management.

  • Experience leading components of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Understanding of how carbon and sustainability considerations will influence project outcomes.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management (or equivalent), along with CSCS and Chartered MRICS (or equivalent).
  • Commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
