About the Deputy Manager Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at the MiChild Group. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our nursery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Nursery Manager to provide daily support and guidance to the team.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursery team to achieve high-quality care and education for our children.
  • Make decisions on the day-to-day running of the nursery in the absence of the Manager.
  • Follow all administrative procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Be a positive role model and provide guidance and support to other staff members.
  • Assist in the training and development of staff within the nursery.
  • Manage staffing levels and deploy staff as needed to ensure the nursery is fully staffed.
  • Attend meetings as part of the management team and contribute to decision-making.
  • Be flexible with shifts and work arrangements to ensure the nursery is fully staffed at all times.
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in childcare or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.
  • Experience of working in a nursery environment, preferably in a Deputy Manager or Room Supervisor role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage and maintain administrative requirements, including record-keeping and reporting.
