Job Title: Registered Manager - Residential Children's Home

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a residential children's home in Preston. The Registered Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, promoting a positive culture, and providing strong leadership to the care team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Residential Children's Home: Ensure the highest standards of care and support are maintained.
  • Lead and Inspire the Care Team: Provide supervision, guidance, and support to a dedicated team of staff.
  • Develop and Implement Care Plans: Create individual care & behaviour plans and risk assessments for each child, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain effective communication with children, families, external agencies, and professionals involved in their care.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Manage Resources: Manage budgets, resources, and administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Promote a Positive Environment: Promote a positive and inclusive environment that values diversity and respects the rights of children and young people.
  • Evaluate Service Delivery: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery, implementing improvements as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a residential children's home setting.
  • Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification) or working towards.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge of Ofsted legislation, regulations, and best practices in childcare. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and resolve complex issues effectively.
  • Safeguarding: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Transportation: Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
