The Role:

The Site Engineering Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Engineering function at KP Ashby, ensuring alignment with KP's Intersnack Work System (IWS). This role focuses on continuous improvement and effective project management within the Engineering and Project pillars of IWS. A key aspect of this position is overseeing the site's capital program, collaborating with the Central Project Team and various departmental teams as necessary. The Site Engineering Manager also plays a vital role in the site Leadership Team, assisting the General Manager with critical strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current and accurate records of all relevant statutory compliance for the site.
  • Lead the PM and IM Pillars, developing master and 90-day plans to address operational losses and enhance capabilities.
  • Maximize the availability of mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Oversee capital investment projects, ensuring they are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Design and manage the engineering budgets for both capital and operational expenditures.
  • Ensure adequate resources, equipment, and personnel are available to meet operational demands.
  • Develop an annual engineering strategy aligned with the site’s goals and KP's strategic objectives.

About the Site:

  • Factory volume of approximately 28,000 tons.
  • Total workforce of 764, operating 24/7.
  • Production of 66 SKUs with varying levels of complexity.
  • Known for producing Hula Hoops, Space Raiders, and Popchips.

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Extensive experience as a Site Engineering Manager.
  • Experience in the food industry.
  • Proven project management experience with large-scale capital projects.
  • Knowledge of PPM strategies and improvement techniques.
  • Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background, ideally with a degree or Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience in FMCG, particularly in maintenance and project management.
  • Experience managing a large site.
  • Pragmatic problem solver, responsive to the pace of business.
  • Strong analytical skills.
