Position Overview:
As a vital member of our housing team, the Housing Assistant will play a crucial role in providing administrative support within a dynamic housing department. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in housing, homelessness, or related service environments. A valid UK driving license is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate revenue collection processes.
- Engage with clients residing in accommodations to assist with the completion of housing benefits applications.
- Collect necessary proof of income for housing benefit submissions.
- Deliver comprehensive business support services through various communication channels, including telephone, in-person interactions, email, and online platforms.
- Manage small balance notifications and supplier billing inquiries.
- Address issues related to broken meters and garage rentals.
- Handle sensitive personal information in accordance with established policies and confidentiality standards.
- Document gas force entries accurately.
- Collaborate with a team of business support staff to resolve customer inquiries and service requests by providing information, guidance, or escalating issues to relevant services.
- Utilize appropriate systems to process service requests and updates for broader service areas.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including mail management.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in IT systems, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Capable of managing interactions with the public in challenging situations.
- Familiarity with Microsoft applications.
- Strong time management skills.
- Demonstrate honesty, reliability, and punctuality.
- Effective problem-solving capabilities.
