Health and Safety Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our dynamic team at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of our Occupational Health and Safety Policies and guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) reviews at designated premises, including smaller and remote sites as appropriate.
- Research and communicate effectively as a subject matter expert with internal and external stakeholders to implement a consistent approach to Health and Safety and fire safety.
- Attend staff workplaces and assess ergonomic requirements to help staff members as required.
- Make recommendations for improvement where necessary.
- Prepare, coordinate, and proactively lead on Health and Safety inspection schedules for designated areas in line with DVSA's health & safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Holds full National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certificate qualification.
- Holds or is willing to achieve a fire risk assessors qualification within the first 6 months of taking up post.
