Key Responsibilities

- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Share responsibility for the daily management of the service and engage in strategic planning.
- Participate in teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service.
- Actively engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical governance activities.
- Contribute to ongoing medical education and professional development.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Essential
- Registration on the GMC Specialist Register or nearing completion of the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview, or provide GMC confirmed eligibility for entry on the Specialist Register.
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM) with CCT in Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) or CCT in Acute/General Paediatrics with significant PEM experience or an equivalent qualification.
- Certification in Advanced Paediatric Life Support (or European Paediatric Advanced Life Support) and Advanced Trauma Life Support.

Desirable
- Postgraduate degree (or equivalent).
- Instructor status in ATLS/EPALS/APLS (at least one of these).

Previous Experience

Essential
- Extensive experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, particularly:
- Proficiency in a wide range of clinical procedures necessary for emergency duties.
- Experience in the daily organization of Paediatric emergency services.
- Proven experience in a Locum Consultant role.
- Experience supervising undergraduates, trainees, and other colleagues.
- Ability to provide and be accountable for comprehensive and independent expert diagnostic opinions.
