We invite you to consider joining our Emergency Department as a Specialist in our Pediatric Emergency Care unit. This is a newly established position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our team.

Our emergency services cater to a significant volume of patients annually, with a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department operating around the clock. The facility is well-equipped to handle a variety of cases, including those from local air ambulance services and trauma units.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications / Training

Essential

  • Registration on the GMC Specialist Register or nearing completion of training.
  • MRCPCH or equivalent qualification.
  • Completion of Pediatric Emergency Medicine Subspecialty Training.
  • Certification in Advanced Pediatric Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support.
  • Valid Level 3 Safeguarding Training.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent.
  • Instructor status in ATLS/EPALS/APLS.

Experience

Essential

  • Comprehensive experience in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, including clinical procedures and service organization.
  • Experience in supervising medical trainees and colleagues.
  • Ability to provide independent expert diagnostic opinions.
  • Proven track record in patient safety initiatives and practice improvement.

Desirable

  • Experience in a Locum Consultant capacity.

Skills

Essential

  • Demonstrated engagement with clinical governance and error management.
  • Evidence of participation in appraisal and revalidation processes.
