Job Opportunity: Non-Executive Director

HSB | UK and Ireland is seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director to join our team. As a key member of our Board, you will play a vital role in shaping the company's strategic direction and ensuring the effective governance of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent judgment and constructive challenge to the executive team, ensuring that our strategic plans are aligned with the company's vision and values.
  • Offer insights on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to inform our business decisions.
  • Ensure that HSB | UK and Ireland adheres to high standards of corporate governance, providing independent oversight and guidance to the executive team.
  • Monitor our financial performance against targets and adherence to key control frameworks.
  • Attend and contribute to quarterly Board and Committee meetings, offering your expertise to guide strategic decisions.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Non-Executive Director, preferably in a complex global corporate structure.
  • Track record of achievement in more than one organisation at a senior level, with no disciplinary history.
  • Experience in the property insurance sector is essential.
  • Commercially astute, with operational or service delivery experience and demonstrable evidence of successful execution.
  • Ideal candidate will hold or have recently held Approved Person status with the Regulator.

Personal Qualities:

  • Demonstrable credibility through breadth of experience, vision, and interest.
  • Relevant intellectual ability to enable consideration of complex issues.
  • Attention to detail and a sound strategic thinker with the ability to challenge constructively.
  • The ability to make independent, balanced analytical assessments.
  • A pragmatic approach to decision making with the flexibility to react effectively to changing circumstances.
