Job Title: Assistant Category Manager, Baby
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our team at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. As an Assistant Category Manager, you will play a key role in leading procurements for Strategic Estates projects, providing a comprehensive procurement service, and developing a category management strategy that provides commercial benefit and reduces risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Leadership: Lead procurements for Strategic Estates projects, ensuring a full end-to-end procurement service, and providing a proactive, efficient, and responsive procurement advisory and planning service.
- Category Management: Develop and implement a category management strategy that provides commercial benefit and reduces risk, consistent with alignment to the Trust's strategies and UK legislation.
- Team Collaboration: Support the development of a strong culture of teamwork, actively supporting a culture of collaboration, flexible cross-team working, and a commitment to delivery of a high-quality service for all customers.
- Contract Management: Ensure all procurement activities operate in full accordance with legal requirements, environment, and sustainability requirements.
- Strategy Development: Lead on the development and implementation of category strategy to support the Group-wide procurement strategy.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage clinicians and managers in the end-to-end process for product selection and supply, including demand challenge, transition, and implementation planning, and development of strategy, tender evaluation, award criteria, and ongoing contract management.
- HR Management: Be responsible and accountable for the management of all HR issues within the category management team, from recruitment to disciplinary procedures.
