Role Overview

The Child Protection Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of children through effective safeguarding practices. This role involves:

  • Providing essential safeguarding and protective services for vulnerable children.
  • Implementing relevant legislation and policies to promote child safety and wellbeing.
  • Collaborating with various agencies to develop comprehensive care and protection strategies.
  • Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of all assessments and interventions.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements
  • Education: Qualified Social Worker with a recognized degree or equivalent.
  • Clearance: Must possess satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service clearance.
  • Registration: Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in relevant services.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in assessment, planning, and intervention, along with excellent record-keeping and report-writing abilities. A proactive and collaborative approach is essential for managing a complex workload effectively.
