Child Protection Specialist

Opus People Solutions Ltd is seeking a skilled Child Protection Specialist to join their Duty and Assessment Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting visits to children and their families, completing assessments, and engaging in direct safeguarding work to protect the wellbeing and safety of young people. You will also participate in strategy discussions, facilitate safety planning, and conduct Section 17 Single Assessments and Section 47 enquiries.
This is a crucial role that requires a deep understanding of child protection policies and procedures. You will have the opportunity to work with children and young people on a short-term basis after the initial referral until your cases transfer from the DAAT to other teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visits to children and their families to assess their needs and develop safety plans
- Complete assessments and engage in direct safeguarding work to protect the wellbeing and safety of young people
- Participate in strategy discussions and facilitate safety planning
- Conduct Section 17 Single Assessments and Section 47 enquiries
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of child protection policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
