About the position.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Assurance Team Leader to become part of our Technical team at Bakkavor Meals. Our facility employs over 700 individuals and specializes in producing chilled Italian ready meals and contemporary deli products for a dedicated clientele.
Key Responsibilities.
  • Lead and guide the QA team in monitoring and auditing production processes and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ensuring products meet specifications and adhere to customer codes of practice and Bakkavor standards, reporting findings to management as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining site standards for inspections and audits through direct involvement, indirect support, and/or organization of QA team activities.
  • Oversee non-conformance issues, including actions taken, and report to the relevant departments to ensure completion of necessary corrective measures.
  • Ensure that products and ingredients are assessed against specifications.
  • Promote a culture of quality and contribute to the development of the quality management system.
  • Coordinate QA requirements for product launches, including updating necessary documentation/systems and liaising with the Process team/line support to ensure products are manufactured to the correct standards.
  • Plan and organize the QA team's workload to meet the requirements of the quality management system and the business's needs.
Candidate Profile.
  • A solid practical understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards is preferred.
  • A strong background in Quality Assurance is advantageous, but more importantly, you should be energetic, punctual, proactive, and dependable, with the ability to lead, inspire, and motivate others towards success.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, a qualification in food science or equivalent, and experience in the manufacturing sector will be beneficial.
