About the Role:

As part of our Engineering & Consulting division, you will engage in a range of stimulating projects. Within our experienced Subsea and Pipeline Engineering team, you will provide specialized engineering support that adds value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

You will oversee and contribute to projects across our Engineering and Consultancy Services sectors, including Oil and Gas, Offshore Wind, and Low Carbon initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Taking technical ownership of all pipeline and riser engineering tasks, overseeing the preparation of project deliverables, and delegating supervision to qualified personnel as necessary.
  • Leading and participating in concept development and feasibility assessments for complex subsea projects in the Oil & Gas industry, as well as designing and analyzing pipelines for CO2 and H2 in the Low Carbon sector.
  • Managing pipeline FEED studies, supervising and reviewing pipeline activities such as philosophies, specifications, routing studies, mechanical design, material selection, and technical requisitions.
  • Formulating solutions for complex technical challenges, collaborating with technical colleagues, and effectively communicating with clients and senior management.
  • Acting as the liaison for interdisciplinary engineering efforts and ensuring timely completion of specific scopes within budget constraints.
  • Defining project scopes and overseeing the preparation of the Master Document Register (MDR) as required, while planning and scheduling pipeline engineering activities.
  • Engaging in business development, nurturing client relationships, and contributing to successful proposals and tenders.
  • Adhering to Quality Assurance processes as outlined in the Kent Management System (KMS) for effective project delivery.
Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Leading or contributing to studies on pipeline integrity management, life extension, and decommissioning.
  • Supporting subsea cable routing and mechanical design assessments in the Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Utilizing analytical methods to address complex subsea pipeline and cable challenges.
  • Developing onshore pipeline routing criteria while considering environmental and legal factors.
  • Participating in innovation initiatives to enhance our assessment methodologies.
  • Coordinating internal and client audit requests and facilitating engineering system audits.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and participating in recruitment processes.
  • Enhancing Kent's technical reputation through strong client relationships and thought leadership.
Your Qualifications:
  • An engineering degree (honours or equivalent) in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent coordination and supervisory abilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Extensive experience in offshore/subsea pipelines; onshore experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of subsea and pipeline engineering fundamentals, including regulatory frameworks and standards.
  • Experience in feasibility studies for subsea developments and familiarity with FEED projects.
  • Knowledge of integrity management for subsea pipelines is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in pipeline analysis and finite element methods is beneficial.
  • Experience in designing and assessing subsea cables and CO2/H2 pipelines is a plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering studies and producing clear, concise reports within time and budget constraints.
  • A proactive approach to challenging existing practices and improving methodologies.
