Role Overview

The position entails conducting audits to ensure adherence to regulations concerning radiation and laser safety, along with providing guidance on necessary corrective measures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the deputy section leader, supporting leadership initiatives.
  • Act as the Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA), Medical Physics Expert (MPE), and Local Radiation Protection Advisor (LPA) for designated sites.
  • Contribute to the advancement of income-generating services within the Radiation Protection Consultancy (RPC).
  • Engage significantly in scientific research and development projects aimed at enhancing the safe application of radiation.
  • Draft radiation protection specifications for facilities utilizing ionizing radiation.
  • Provide expert advice on radiation safety considerations in the design and construction of both existing and new facilities for ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
  • Play a crucial role in organizing and delivering training programs for the section.
Advisory Role

Offer guidance on legislative requirements and best practices in radiation protection to clients, ensuring that the post holder remains informed about current legal obligations.
