About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Ward Clerk to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Cardiac Intensive Therapy Unit, you will provide day-to-day clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of the ward.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist the multi-disciplinary team in maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Provide first point of contact for patient, visitor, and staff non-clinical enquiries.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure patients' safety, comfort, and welfare in accordance with Trust policies.
Personal Service
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, relatives, and staff, including:
- Receiving and making telephone calls.
- Liaising with nursing staff as required.
- Welcoming patients and relatives to the ward.
- Receiving and distributing mail to patients and staff.
- Relaying relevant messages.
- Arranging and receiving visitors for patients and the ward.
- Liaising with the nurse in charge to assist with timely transfers.
- Liaising with the bed management team.
- Liaising with the ambulance service for patient transport.
- Obtaining and ordering patient meal choices.
- Ordering catering supplies for patients and staff.
