Job Summary:

As a Residential Support Worker at SuperCare Residential, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people. Your role will involve providing day-to-day care and support, helping them to become more independent and succeed in their education and personal growth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Direct work with young people, key working, and providing day-to-day care and support on a shift work basis.
  • Collaborating with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure their needs are addressed.
  • Coordinating, monitoring, and reviewing Care Plans for allocated young people, preparing them for transition to adulthood and greater independence.
  • Ensuring the upkeep of the establishment, maintaining health and safety, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior.
  • Administrative work and record-keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home.
  • Supporting young people in taking responsibility for their own lives, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, and involving them in planning their lives.
  • Responding to safeguarding concerns and reporting them effectively.
  • Attending to the day-to-day needs of young people, including bathing, feeding, and cooking.

Household Responsibilities:

  • Sharing in the practical activities necessary to maintain the House.
  • Caring for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment.
  • Being accountable for moneys allocated for specific purposes.
  • Reporting repairs and ensuring necessary actions are taken.

Personal Development:

  • Acting as a role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
  • Keeping abreast of good practice to develop skills, knowledge, and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.
  • Making use of regular professional supervision.
  • Reporting to a line manager or other appropriate person, any malpractice or evidence suggesting it.

Additional Duties:

  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
  • Working shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis as required.
  • Flexibility to work at other properties as directed by management.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children/young people in an Ofsted environment.
  • Level 3 CYPW or above (or currently working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care).
  • Ability to drive.
  • Successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced DBS Check or be subject to one if appointed.
  • Smart and agile to handle the daily needs and activities of young people.
