Job Title: Principal Safety and Risk Engineer

At Genesis, we are committed to delivering high-quality solutions that ensure the safety and reliability of our clients' operations. As a Principal Safety and Risk Engineer, you will play a key role in our team, working on a variety of projects that require technical safety and risk assessments.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical safety, risk, and loss prevention, with experience in managing formal safety workshops, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA. You will also have experience in executing risk studies, including QRA, FERA, and EERA, and risk-based design, including ALARP demonstration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform technical safety and risk assessments and analysis based on regulatory requirements, client standards, and drivers.
  2. Develop and implement safety and risk management strategies to minimize hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Lead junior engineers and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, and develop solutions to improve safety and reliability.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in technical safety, risk, and loss prevention.
  2. Experience in managing formal safety workshops, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA.
  3. Experience in executing risk studies, including QRA, FERA, and EERA, and risk-based design, including ALARP demonstration.
  4. Strong understanding of UK regulatory framework and safety case/COMAH development.
  5. Ability to lead junior engineers and provide guidance and support.

Advantageous Experience:

  1. Some understanding of functional safety.
  2. Experience with PHAST, Flaresim, BowtieXP, and Pipenet.
