Principal Safety and Risk Consultant

About the Role

The Principal Safety and Risk Consultant will be responsible for performing technical safety and risk studies, writing reports, and communicating solutions to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical safety, risk, and loss prevention, with experience in managing formal safety workshops and executing risk studies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform technical safety and risk studies, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL / LOPA, and risk-based design
  2. Manage formal safety workshops and execute risk studies, including QRA, FERA, and EERA
  3. Develop and implement safety and risk management strategies, including ALARP demonstration
  4. Lead junior engineers and provide guidance on safety and risk management practices

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical safety, risk, and loss prevention, with experience in managing formal safety workshops and executing risk studies. Additionally, the candidate should have a good understanding of UK regulatory framework and safety case/COMAH development.

Advantageous Experience

  1. Understanding of functional safety and experience with PHAST, Flaresim, BowtieXP, and Pipenet
