Job Summary

The Outage Department Project Manager will be accountable to the Outage Group Head for successful delivery of all aspects of their assigned project(s) and are specifically responsible for overall safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, implement, and comply with applicable company safety, environmental, and quality procedures and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish the baseline scope, quality, and schedule for their project and ensuring that company reporting tools accurately reflect the project(s) position.
  • Work with key stakeholders both within the organization and externally to help deliver optimal solutions in a safe manner to meet or better the project schedule and quality requirements.
  • Secure the required resources and ensure the maintenance of specialized knowledge and expertise for any assigned resource and promptly identify any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.
  • Ensure that effective scope control process is implemented when significant changes to project scope, schedule, or cost are identified.
  • Maximize their team's operational efficiency, disseminate and input of lessons learned across all project stages.
  • Carry out effective stakeholder communication regarding project performance, issues, concerns, and risks through the required reporting mechanisms.
  • Lead and coach their project team (including temporary workers) to maximize efficient and effective delivery, in a safe and timely manner, of fit-for-purpose solutions that meet or better the project baseline cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Drive for excellence in safety, quality, forecasting, time, and cost.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be qualified to a HNC level as a minimum and ideally hold a degree in a relevant field such as engineering or hold an equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline.

Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification, ideally APM/PMQ or RPP/PPQ would be an advantage.

Proven record and experience in the management and delivery of projects through the full project lifecycle, ideally across a range of complex multi-discipline projects and environments.

Knowledge of HSE and CDM legislation as well as being an efficient user of scheduling, programming, and risk tools is desirable.

Excellent verbal and written communications are essential for the role.
