Contract Manager - Service Contract

Airswift is seeking a highly skilled Contract Manager to join our team in Wilton. As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for managing all post-award processes, including contract administration, change control, claims avoidance and management, final accounting, dispute resolution, and contract compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all post-award processes, including contract administration, change control, claims avoidance and management, final accounting, dispute resolution, and contract compliance.
  • Provide contract management expertise to allocated projects.
  • Support the Project Management Office (PMO) in the management of all Construction and Engineering Contractors during the Pre-contract and Post-Contract Administration activities.
  • Prepare market analysis of returns.
  • Utilize clients project processes and procedures (Knowledge/Requis/CRM).
  • Prepare prequalification criteria and prequalify contractors.
  • Compile individual contract plan and strategy for RFP/ITT/ITB.
  • Perform qualification exercises to select bidders for RFP/ITT/ITB from the project bidders list and issue the bidders list for review and approval.
  • Coordinate visits by bidders to the project worksite (as appropriate).
  • Utilize clients project processes and procedures (Knowledge/Requis/CRM).
  • Receive all correspondence from contractors, initiate distribution and close out.
  • Maintain correspondence, site instructions, and contractor change registers.
  • Maintain securities (bonds, performance guarantees, insurances, etc.).
  • Reply to contractors correspondence where the subject is solely contract-related or coordinate the review of and reply to such correspondence with other customer/departments/disciplines.
  • Provide contractual interpretation for project team.
  • Liaise with supervision on the management and overseeing of TQ's, NCR's, concessions, etc.
  • Ensure contractual deliverables are submitted by contractor in a timely and acceptable manner.
  • Ensure contractual compliance by contractor.
  • Attend and chair contractor progress meetings, write minutes, etc.
  • Attend and participate in contractor trend/early warnings review meetings.
  • Raise initial back charge documentation accruing from work by contractors.
  • Review all requests for compensation for extra work from contractors and coordinate their further review and approval.
  • Raise regular contract amendments for in the contract price of approved changes.
  • Review contractors applications and invoices for contract compliance and coordinate the review by other disciplines/departments.
  • Participate in risk review meetings.
  • Coordinate the process of contractor performance evaluation.
  • Perform all work at the direction of the consultant and customer contracts management, needed to address and settle claims from contractors.
  • Receive contractors notices of completion and coordinate the issue of notices of acceptance/rejection in reply.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or Law (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience of managing all post-award processes (general contract administration, change control, claims avoidance and management, final accounting, dispute resolution, etc).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Adept in the use of software and reporting systems (e.g. CRM (or similar), Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS, etc).
  • Experience in the industrial engineering (e.g. mining, mid-stream/upstream oil & gas, chemical, process plant, etc) industry.
  • Strong understanding of contractual risk and contract law.
  • Strong experience of published standard forms of contract (e.g. FIDIC, IChemE, LOGIC, NEC, etc) standard and bespoke forms of contract.
  • Involvement in contract work practices.
  • Experience of working without supervision.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, and interpretation of commercial contracts.
