Wentworth James Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key player in the design, manufacture, and installation of steel processing machinery, we require an individual with expertise in process or plant equipment to drive project success.

About the Role:

  1. Lead the design and development of tube straightening equipment and ancillary handling equipment.
  2. Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to ensure engineering deadlines are met and quality solutions are delivered.
  3. Work closely with various departments to ensure engineering requirements are achieved in accordance with contract commitments.
  4. Provide engineering support to overseas manufacturers and clients, ensuring seamless project delivery.
  5. Liaise with clients and suppliers as needed, including cooperation with our US office on shared projects.

Requirements:

  1. Proven mechanical engineering experience, preferably in the metal processing industry.
  2. Strong understanding of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for 2D/3D modeling.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
  4. Knowledge of hydraulics and electrics is beneficial, but not essential.
  5. A degree or HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous, but not essential.
