Wentworth James Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Dudley, West Midlands. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for steel processing machinery. With a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in the metal processing industry, you will be able to hit the ground running and make a significant impact on our projects.
About the Role:
- Design and develop mechanical solutions for steel processing machinery, including tube straightening equipment and ancillary handling equipment.
- Collaborate with our team of mechanical engineers to ensure engineering deadlines are met and quality engineering solutions are delivered.
- Work closely with our Chief Engineer to ensure that engineering requirements are achieved in accordance with contract commitments.
- Provide engineering support to overseas manufacturers and clients, ensuring seamless project delivery.
- Liaise with clients and suppliers as needed, including cooperation with our US office on shared projects.
Requirements:
- Strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in the metal processing industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D, with the ability to create mechanical drawings to industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and suppliers as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
