About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Level Designer to join our Forza Horizon team at Playground Games. As a key member of our Level Design team, you will be responsible for creating large sections of our game worlds, designing genre-leading events, and implementing key gameplay features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, own, and maintain multiple areas of our game world
  • Take ownership of gameplay features and independently drive them forwards
  • Focus on player experience and ensure the highest quality gameplay is being delivered
  • Work with a highly motivated, talented cross-discipline team
  • Use our custom, proprietary engine and tools to build genre-leading gameplay experiences
  • Mentor, train, and inspire other members of the team

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Level Design experience
  • At least one shipped title in a Level Design role
  • Experience with multiple software packages such as 3DS Max, Mudbox, and Photoshop (or equivalents)
  • Ability to create a whitebox environment and develop it through to shippable quality
  • Ideal experience in building AAA open-world environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to train and mentor junior members of the team
  • A genuine passion for games
  • Experience in the racing genre is a plus
