Key Responsibilities
West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust is looking to establish a reserve pool of compassionate and dedicated individuals for our Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services. This role involves safely transporting patients with varying mobility needs to and from treatment centers or other designated locations.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting necessary vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Being flexible to ensure patients are transported in a timely, safe, and respectful manner.
- Adhering to Contract Specific Quality Standards to maintain high levels of customer service.
- Communicating effectively with the Control Centre through various means.
- Transferring patients using appropriate equipment tailored to their individual needs.
- Providing necessary care to patients, utilizing available resources.
- Ensuring safe and considerate transportation of patients, including both scheduled and unscheduled journeys.
- Maintaining accurate records and reports, including Patient Transport Records and Incident Reports.
- Keeping vehicles and equipment clean and ready for use.
- Participating in required training to uphold standards of care.
- Maintaining a valid driving license.
- Following corporate policies, operational instructions, and clinical protocols.
- Performing additional tasks as required by supervisory staff.
Qualifications
Essential
- A good standard of general education with a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including English, or a willingness to pursue a level 2 qualification within the first year of employment.
- A full clean driving license with no more than 3 penalty points.
Desirable
- Preference for location choice.
Experience
Essential
- Experience in a public service or customer care setting.
- Experience driving various types of vehicles.
