Lead Security Software Engineer

Lead Security Software Engineer, Java, Scripting, Automation... become a vital part of a financial services organization dedicated to embedding security within their product development lifecycle. This role focuses on establishing robust security measures, leveraging automation and data analytics to safeguard millions of users.
In addition to implementing security frameworks, you will guide software engineers in making informed decisions that enhance the security posture of customer-facing applications.
Your contributions will bolster the Digital Center of Excellence by promoting best practices across software development and ensuring the integration of appropriate security controls throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

This position requires collaboration across multiple teams, including Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), architectural design teams, and various cybersecurity divisions. The Business Information Security Officer (BISO) team will oversee the overall security strategy, working closely with Security Architecture & Engineering, Vulnerability Management, and Incident Response teams.
Your Responsibilities:
- Enhance security practices across numerous project teams and developers.
- Collaborate with CISO colleagues and development teams to ensure a dual focus on security.
- Provide guidance to engineering teams and work together to address application security challenges.
- Support developers, security advocates, and product team members in adopting secure coding methodologies and assist with code evaluations.
- Integrate threat modeling into product development workflows.
- Analyze security metrics to inform and refine product security strategies.
Your Qualifications:
- Proven experience in secure development practices for Java applications.
- Skilled in scripting or automation technologies, including Python, Bash, Golang, or C#.
- Ability to mentor and assist other cybersecurity functions and product/platform developers.
- Deep understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes, particularly with GitHub Actions.
- Experience in securing containerized environments.
- Familiarity with application security in relation to cloud services (e.g., AWS Lambda, IAM).
- Additional experience with Kubernetes and security tools such as Sysdig Enterprise, HP Fortify, and Sonarqube is advantageous.
